of Leo and Donna Jansens These are the personal pages of Leo Jansens and Donna Jansens briefly outlining our personal histories and interests as well as the principles that are foundational to what we believe and practice. For details on our business involvements, visit the Pen & Paper and Brookwinn Management pages. personal history - leo jansensLeo was born in Holland, but came to Canada with his parents at the age of three. His early years were spent in Lethbridge, Alberta. Leaving home at age 19, he spent two years working in business in Edmonton, Alberta and then moved to Brooks, Alberta to manage a stationery store. While there, he became established in the two most important areas of his life: his Christian faith and his family life. It was here that Leo met his wife, Donna, and they were married a short time later. After a few years in real estate sales and development, and in printing sales, Leo and Donna moved to Caronport, SK where Leo attended Briercrest Bible College. Upon graduation, the family, which now included two boys and a girl, moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. After a one-year ministry in a church, Leo returned to school, studying at Providence Seminary, eventually earning a Masters of Arts degree in Old Testament. Since then, Leo and Donna have been actively involved in business, the community (through baseball), and serve as lay people in their local church in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Leo's Testimony - Short Version personal history - donna jansens Donna was born at Prince Albert, SK, the daughter of Edgar and Mabel Olney. She spent her growing up years at Caronport, SK where her parents were on staff at Briercrest Bible College, and in Kitchener, Ontario. After High School, Donna attended Briercrest Bible College, graduating with a B.R.E. in Christian Education. In 1979, Donna met Leo at Brooks, AB and they have been happily married since, with three children. In 1989, building on Leo's years of experience in the business forms and printing industry, Leo and Donna were privileged to open a stationery store called Pen and Paper in North-East Winnipeg. They enjoy serving the people of the area in their office, school, and art supply needs, but often find themselves helping their customers and friends with their personal needs as well. In addition to operating Pen and Paper, they also offer accounting and management services to other businesses, operating as Brookwinn Management. Leo and Donna Jansens became involved with baseball in the early 90's when their two boys began to play on the community club teams. Leo eventually ended up coaching one of the boy's teams with Donna's assistance. They have now successfully coached teams during three seasons. For a number of years, Leo was in charge of administering the baseball program at the local Valley Gardens Community Club. Leo and Donna have also served on the Executive of the Red River Valley Sports League. Other involvements are in their local church (East Kildonan Baptist Church) where Donna plays the piano and is involved with other aspects of the music ministry; Leo teaches adult classes and has served on the Church Board.
